Grandma's Country Kitchen
The name reveals itself at restaurant Mormors Landkøkken in Hejlsminde, where you can enjoy classic grandma dishes such as shrimp cocktail, shooting stars, ham schnitzel and minced beef. Dessert offers red porridge with cream. There are also lighter dishes such as salad with baked salmon, stuffed plaice and French chocolate cake. The restaurant serves large portions at reasonable prices, so everyone can be satisfied.
Owner Anton Kudsk runs the place together with his wife Mette, and they took over the restaurant in the spring of 2022. With its rustic decor and cozy terrace overlooking the water, this is the place where you can relax and enjoy good food.

Christiansfelder Funkis
In a former grocery store in Christiansfeld you will find Christiansfelder Funkis, a shop filled with antiques and flea markets. Gitte Madsen runs the shop, where you can find everything from farmhouse furniture and ceramics to old crystal glass and kitsch. Her passion for old things has developed into a full-time business, where she spends a lot of time finding new finds at markets.

Lene Frantzen Design
Lene Frantzen is a textile designer who creates iconic cushions and coasters in dyed and felted wool, which have become her signature product. The products are made on the farm just below Skamlingsbanken, where Lene and her husband Arthur Tudsborg also have a gallery and shop. In addition to wool cushions, you can find paintings and lambskin.

The stable
Stalden i Hejls offers 350 square meters filled with interior design and clothing, both new and vintage. The store is run by Jette Pedersen, who also takes clothes on commission and sells them on. Here you will find everything from wine glasses to clothing and furniture, as well as a number of things for the garden.

Xocolatl
In the heart of Christiansfeld you will find Xocolatl, a mecca for chocolate lovers. Here you can buy delicious chocolate bars, cake and coffee – or enjoy a waffle ice cream at the sidewalk café in the summer. Xocolatl is also famous for its gingerbread, which is said to be baked according to the original recipe from the Herrnhuters.

Right outside the door is Hejls Nor, a nature reserve with a rich bird and plant life. The 12 km long hiking route goes around the fjord and offers beautiful views and experiences, including the opportunity to spot white-tailed eagles.
